Treatment of water contaminated with MTBE
MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether) is a water-soluble oil and refinery pollutant that is very dangerous and harmful. This pollution, which is usually common in the areas of refineries, is very permeable to underground water and the environment, which is very difficult to purify and separate due to its solubility in water. Using the combination of CNC nanocomposite (carbon nano channels) and zeolite can provide the possibility of absorbing and separating this pollution with the possibility of easy application and cheaper cost. Research related to this issue has been successfully completed at Tehran Polytechnic University.
