Pharmaceutical, medical, cosmetic and sanitary applications
Zeolite-clinoptilolite is a porous hydrous aluminosilicate mineral with high physical, chemical, and thermal stability, which also has a high specific surface area and cation exchange capacity. Due to these features, it has wide applications in various pharmaceutical, medical and cosmetic sectors. This mineral has a very high capacity to absorb many heavy metals, toxins and some compounds such as ammonium. Due to this characteristic and also its high chemical stability in the body, it can act as an important factor in detoxification and reducing oxidative stress, which is known to be a very important factor in many diseases such as cancers and Alzheimer’s. In addition to this, numerous studies have shown its positive effects in stimulating the immune system and thus strengthening the body’s immune system, as well as creating a balance in the microorganisms of the digestive system. These factors have caused this mineral to be used as a human food supplement in many countries. The important point in this case is the suitability of the selected zeolite and the absence of microbial-chemical and bacterial contamination.
Clinoptilolite can also be known as a natural drug carrier for the transfer of some drugs due to its nanometer porous space, chemical and physical stability, as well as gradual release.
Due to high surface absorption and detoxification, zeolite can be used in the preparation of different types of face masks, baby powder, sanitary pads, body cream, bath salt, soap, face scrub, body and face wash lotions.
The pharmacological and medicinal effects of natural zeolites have been discovered and used for a long time. The Ministry of Health and Medicine of the country is well aware of the importance of zeolites in the prevention and treatment of many important diseases such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, liver detoxification, skin and digestive diseases, etc. is under review. In addition to medical and pharmaceutical knowledge, the production of such drugs requires a suitable source of zeolite mineral and geometallurgical knowledge, which fortunately is at the disposal of this company. Currently, the R&D department of Afrazand Company is conducting preliminary studies of zeolite purification methods for medicinal applications.
